Buninyong, missing a couple of key players, paid the price to the reigning premiers Springbank last Saturday.
Springbank seems to have retained their superiority so far in the season, as have Skipton who are minor premiers to Springbank, both on 12 points in the ladder with the Emu’s on top. In fact there are four clubs all on 12 points with the once powerhouse Dunnstown on 6 points but it is only three games into the season but a good start is imperative to any club.
It was a tough game between Buninyong and Springbank with the Tigers having top centre Kelly Conroy missing but her sister Amy did step up and played very well in centre and wing attack. Springbank had the size at both ends of the court and the smaller Buninyong players in the circle didn’t flinch and they were far from disgraced losing by only nine goals.
In the second match the Miner covered Ballan came up against a very young Gordon side but Ballan had too many gun players with class, let’s hope the Eagles can improve as the season gets on.
