THE Ballarat and District Croquet Association held its annual Open Tournament over four days.

The tournament began on Saturday March 5th and concluded on Tuesday March 8th, at the Ballarat Alexandra Croquet Courts in Prince of Wales Park. Sections 1 and 2 played on Saturday and Sunday, while Sections 3 and 4 played on Monday & Tuesday. This tournament is called the Begonia Tournament as it was originally played during the Begonia Festival week. It has been played since 1962.

This year visitors came from Horsham, Warrnambool, Melbourne, Castlemaine, Shepparton, Sale, and Geelong.

Not deterred by the hot conditions, over 20 teams took part in the tournament.
