FREE Ferris Wheel

Our FREE Ferris Wheel will return for the festive season in Ballarat. Enjoy a free ride on our FREE Ferris Wheel between Saturday 5 December and Christmas Eve. Located at the Sturt Street end of the Bridge Mall the Ferris Wheel will operate between 10am and 5pm every day.

One of Ballarat’s favourite Christmas events, the Ballarat Carols will be held on Sunday 13 December, 7.30 to 9.30pm at the North Gardens, Lake Wendouree.

2016 Mars Cycling Australia Road National Championships

The 2016 Mars Cycling Australia Road National Championships will return to Ballarat and Buninyong in January. The nation’s best cyclists will compete for the prestigious green and gold jersey between Wednesday 6 and Sunday 10 January. New play spaces underway

We’re investing $235,000 in new and upgraded children’s play spaces projects across the city. Works are underway and will be ready for play by Christmas. Locations include: Pennyweight Park Reserve – Ballarat East, St Patrick’s Point Reserve, Lake Wendouree, Bogart Drive Reserve – Wendouree, McNulty Drive Reserve – Wendouree, Banyule Yaluk Reserve – Delacombe, Lions Gate Reserve Delacombe and Alex Mills Reserve – Canadian. Summer floral display at Ballarat Botanical Gardens

The summer floral display is now on show at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens. Located in the Conservatory the display features an exciting new floral design full of Fuchsias, Hydrangeas, and Pelargoniums. Plus, keep your eye out for a topiary animal or two! The Conservatory is open 9am to 4.30pm daily and entry is free. 2016 Summer Sundays event program announced Two big name acts Thelma Plum and Montaigne – have been named in the 2016 Summer Sundays event program. With a new time of 4 to 7pm, Summer Sundays will be held across four Sundays 10, 17, 24 and 31 January. Hosted by the City of Ballarat, Summer Sundays is a FREE community event.
