BALLARAT’S newest shopping centre, Delacombe Town Centre (DTC), opened with a soft launch on Thursday and an official opening on Saturday morning with a whole host of fun activities for the whole family. DTC took fourteen months to construct and 150 workers to complete. More than 30 traders have moved the new centre, which is situated on the corner of the Glenelg Highway and Cherry Flat Road.
At the launch on Thursday six generations of the Troon family gathered in the Showbiz Cinemas foyer, to celebrate the completion of this project. Managing director of developer H.Troon Steve Troon, on behalf of the Directors of the Delacombe Town Centre, welcomed those at the launch.
“Today represents a culmination of many years of work for many people,” he said.
“H. Troon Pty Ltd represents a process that has taken close to three years from the initial inquiry, to the purchase of the land, through to the opening of our centre today.” There is a mixture of small and large retailers at DTC, catering for all types of shoppers.
Kmart Delacombe also had their official launch on Thursday, which included a smoking ceremony and ribbon cutting. This new store is fully stocked with their everyday low priced products so customers can shop popular on trend items across clothing, kids and home. “The new store will also be showcasing items from our newest fitness campaign – ‘feel good fit’,” said store manager Nigel Brennan.
“The new active range is shaped for everyone, designed for life and cut for comfort.” Store opening hours are:

All Kmart team members began training two months ago from Kmart Wendouree, with a focus on in store processes and developments to ensure team are fully equipped to able to handle all situations come to opening.
