BALLARAT Mayor, Cr Des Hudson, and representatives from leading organisations walked Lake Wendouree on Friday morning to kick off the Premier’s Active April The group of leading Ballarat organisations banded together to show their support for Active April and to increase physical activity rates amongst Ballarat residents. Representatives included City of Ballarat, Ballarat YMCA, Ballarat Community Health, Sports Central, St John of God, Grampians Integrated Cancer Services, Central Highlands PCP, Ballarat Roosters and the Western Victoria Primary Health Network, People at Work.
Each year, Premier’s Active April encourages Victorians everywhere, regardless of their level of fitness, gender or age to make the commitment to 30 minutes of physical activity a day during the month of April. Not only is it about improving the health of Victoria, but it also brings families and friends together to enjoy all the benefits that come from increased physical activity.
