THE Cotton On KIDS 1km Run returns for its second year in a row, at the 2015 Run Ballarat. The event which was hugely popular last year saw over 700 participants in the run for kids aged 4 -12 With 100 per cent of registration fees going towards the redevelopment of the Children’s Ward at Ballarat Base Hospital, the 1km run is the perfect opportunity for kids to help other kids and contribute to this great cause.
“We are really excited to be partnering with Cotton On KIDS adding the 1km kids run to every Run Australia event Nationally. We are passionate about improving children’s health care so it is only fitting to include an event that is just for kids. Personally – it is always the highlight of my event day experience. We love encouraging our little ones to be in engaged and participate in healthy and fit lifestyles and this is the way we do it,” said Sam McGuane, Community Projects Manager at the Cotton On Group.
The 1km course will wind around City Oval and have loads of on and offcourse attractions and activities including jumping castles, animal farm, balloon twisters, bubble machines, face painters and much more. The event precinct will also be buzzing with loads of free entertainment including a live performance by Aussie superstar Samantha Jade as well as other local acts, a massage tent, giveaways and loads of activities perfect for kids of all ages. Run Ballarat offers events for all ages and abilities, including City of Ballarat 12km Run, Cotton On BODY 6km Run, QBE Foundation 6km Family Walk or, the Cotton On KIDS 1km Run for children aged 4 to 12 years.
