THE original Buninyong Police Station built in 1859, which exists on school grounds, is undergoing a major internal and external facelift.

To support this renovation, Buninyong Primary School invites you to be apart of its future by purchasing a brick or paver, to be engraved with your name and placed at the entry of the building.

The money raised from this sponsorship initiative will be used to install new heating, new flooring and a kitchenette.

Once renovations are complete, the space will be used for a variety of learning experiences as well as a venue for historical talks from local community members and will proudly display many historical images of Buninyong Primary School and its surrounds. School Principal Bernie Conlan said, “We realised if we didn’t do something it would get to the point of no return.”

“The funding has partly come from school fundraising, which is the pavers, Bendigo Bank have been terrific and they have given us $10,000, the Friends of the Buninyong Botanic Gardens, they have come on board and they have given us $5000 and this will become their base so they are excited to have a place of their own. This will be their meeting space and they have plans to build a propagation place and do propagating with the kids.” Mr Conlan said they are aiming to have the project completed by the end of this year.

“We are now looking for the community and business to support the project by buying a brick or paver, which will be laid in front of the building,” he said. The cost of one brick will be $60, which includes engraving and installation. A business paver spanning 300mm by 300mm will also be available to purchase at $300 and includes engraving.
