A VERY busy one day event at the Ballarat Showgrounds designed to provide hobby and lifestyle farmers with the opportunity to look at over 200 exhibitors promoting a wide variety of goods and services, from farm machinery and water tanks, rare breed animals and poultry, local providores and horticultural expertise. Expert speakers will give advice on a wide variety of topics ranging from fire safety to raising poultry.
There will be fencing demos, gardening advice, animal husbandry exhibitors and opportunities for practical hands on farm machinery advice. A dedicated food and wine area will once again promote regional cooking from local suppliers, with chef Simon Beaton. An expanded Paddock to Plate area will include entrants from local growers speaking and demonstrating the use of their own product. There will be plenty of good food to eat and children’s activities throughout the day.
This is the fourth time the event has run at the Ballarat Showgrounds and it is back in an expanded form. Our exit surveys show a high level of consumer satisfaction with all there was to see and do, so we are keen to add on and improve the level of satisfaction for the public and stallholders. Experts will also talk on horse health and pasture care, sheep producing and shearing , rearing pigs and animal husbandry.
With more exhibitors, seminars and demonstrations, The Weekly Times Rural Lifestyle Expo is one to add to the calendar this year if you haven’t already done so. Held on Saturday April 11, the Ballarat Showgrounds will be filled with more than 200 exhibitors and a program packed full with key information and practical advice on all things rural living and farm management.
