VACSAL STATEWIDE JUNIOR CARNIVAL

THE Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Limited (VASCAL) junior football and netball program provides opportunities for all Aboriginal communities in Victoria (Vic) to participate in friendly competition in football and netball through a year­ly carnival.

The carnival provides an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to gather and participate in friendly competition in a healthy and safe environment.

VACSAL STATEWIDE JUNIOR CARNIVAL2The event promotes cultural ties, family participation, healthy lifestyle and showcases unique football and netball talents.

The carnival takes place in a round robin format for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth aged 12 to 21 years and over two days last week the carnival came to Ballarat.

These annual events have a productive impact on many levels of the Victorian Aboriginal society; the carnivals bring various communities from all over Victoria together in a highly valued cultural exchange.
